Youth
Empowering the Largest Generation in History
Young people are not just participants in People to People International. They are partners in learning how to live with difference in a shared world.
Our Youth work creates safe, well-designed opportunities for young people to meet across cultures, build skills, and develop the confidence to engage respectfully with people who may not think, live, or see the world as they do. We recognise that connection does not require sameness, and that disagreement does not cancel belonging.
We work through local chapters, trusted partners, and carefully structured programmes that reflect today’s legal, safeguarding, and educational realities. The aim is not to produce uniform views, but to support young people in developing judgment, empathy, and the ability to navigate complexity with dignity.
This section brings together all PTPI youth-focused activity, including international exchanges, learning experiences, leadership development, and community engagement. Some initiatives are long-standing and being renewed; others are emerging in response to current needs and opportunities.
Across all youth activity, PTPI is committed to:
- Clear standards and responsible governance
- Age-appropriate safeguarding and duty of care
- Inclusion that makes room for difference, not sameness
- Cultural respect, even where views and values do not fully align
- Learning that lasts beyond the programme experience
Specific initiatives, guidance documents, and participation details can be found in the sections below.
Youth Mobility Programme
The Youth Mobility Programme gives young people the chance to take part in meaningful international exchanges that build cultural understanding, confidence, and lasting friendships. We put care into every step, with clear guidance on safeguarding, preparation, hosting, and follow-up so everyone knows what to expect and feels supported. Full details on who can take part and how it works will be set out in the programme document that are linked here. Should you need information right now, please email office@ptpi.network.
