Our Klina Story

The Klina Youth Chapter is part of People to People International’s global chapter network, connecting local young people with a wider community committed to friendship and understanding.

Every chapter brings its own perspective to PTPI. In Klina, young people have shared something close to home: the landscape and biodiversity of their local area.

By exploring their surroundings and collecting photographs, chapter members have helped introduce Klina to people beyond their own community.

Their contribution reflects a simple idea at the heart of citizen diplomacy: understanding grows when people share their own experiences and take an interest in the lives of others.

Sharing Klina Through Local Eyes

Chapter members have visited local sites and taken photographs to promote awareness of Klina’s landscape and biodiversity.

This activity offers a personal introduction to the area, shaped by the young people who know it.

Photography can open conversations about:

  • 📷 The places that matter to local people

  • 🌿 Plants, wildlife and the natural environment

  • 🏡 Everyday life in the community

  • 🌍 What people from different places can learn from one another

Sharing these perspectives gives other PTPI members an opportunity to discover Klina through local eyes.

About Klina

Klina, also known as Klinë, is a town and municipality in western Kosovo. The municipality includes the town and surrounding villages.

The wider area offers opportunities to discover natural landscapes and archaeological heritage.

Places to Discover

  • 💧 Mirusha Waterfalls: a protected natural area spanning parts of Klina, Malisheva and Rahovec, with a canyon, waterfalls and lakes.

  • 🏛️ Dresnik archaeological site: near Klina, where excavations have revealed Roman-era remains and colourful mosaics.

These places provide different ways to learn about the area, from its natural environment to the traces of earlier communities.

Our Place in the PTPI Community

People to People International’s mission is Advancing Peace through Understanding.

Youth chapters give young people a place within that mission. Sharing local experiences, listening to different perspectives and building friendships can help people understand one another across cultures and borders.

Klina’s contribution starts with its own community and the stories its young people choose to share.
