Hello Peacebuilders,
On 21 September, the world pauses to mark the International Day of Peace. This year’s theme, Act Now for a Peaceful World, is more urgent than ever. In times of turbulence and uncertainty, peace is not an abstract dream — it is daily action.
At People to People International, we believe every conversation, every handshake, every act of respect can move us closer to peace. Whether through volunteering in your community, welcoming a homestay guest, or speaking out against discrimination, each of us has the power to spark change.
🌍 Ways You Can Act Now
- Spark conversations about understanding and non-violence.
- Volunteer in your community.
- Challenge discrimination wherever you see it.
- Verify before you post on social media.
- Support socially-conscious and human rights–focused initiatives.
All of these small acts add up to something bigger: a culture of peace.
✨ PTPI Chapters in Action
- Estonia: Joined the Inclusive Toolbox seminar in Cluj-Napoca, shaping inclusive education practices.
- Šternberk, Czechia: Launched their “K1 – First 660” hike, combining nature, health, and community.
- Delaware, USA: Preparing for A Night of Film, Art & Community and a Painting for Peace fundraiser in October.
- South Korea: Celebrating the 30th anniversary of their Student Chapter movement — an inspiring milestone!
- Romania (Roman Chapter): Opening registrations with a presentation for new members this September.
Together, these local actions connect into a powerful global movement.
🌱 PTPI’s Tree-Nation Partnership
Two years ago, PTPI began planting trees in Bolivia’s Amazon Basin with our partners at Tree-Nation. Today, those trees are thriving — a living symbol of our commitment to peace through understanding and harmony with nature.
These Eucalyptus camaldulensis trees are part of the Amazon Windshields project and continue to grow strong. They remind us that peace is not only between people, but also with the planet we share. Small steps, like planting a tree, grow into lasting legacies.
