🇺🇸 PTPI Delaware – Empowering Women in Togo Through Do More 24
March 5–6, 2026
PTPI Delaware is participating in Do More 24, Delaware’s statewide 24-hour giving campaign, to support a women’s cooperative in Togo, West Africa.
In many rural communities in Togo, women carry the economic weight of their families. They work in agriculture, food preparation, and small-scale trade to support education, healthcare, and daily survival.
One of the region’s staple foods is garrí, a roasted cassava product that is affordable and widely consumed. However, the traditional production process is physically demanding and time-intensive. Women spend long hours grating, fermenting, pressing, and roasting cassava by hand. This limits productivity and income potential.
🎯 The Goal
Raise funds to purchase a cassava processing machine that will:
- Reduce physical labor
- Increase production capacity
- Improve safety and efficiency
- Strengthen income generation for the cooperative
This is practical empowerment. It is economic dignity. It is peacebuilding through livelihood.
