Estonia Update
PTPI Tallinn / Eesti People to People International was represented by its President, Ruta Pels, at the Global Education Network (GEN) Annual Meeting, held from 14–16 April 2026 in Madrid.
The meeting brought together 52 participants from 41 countries, including civil society organisations and public authorities, creating a strong platform for collaboration, knowledge exchange, and strategic alignment in global education.
🌍 Showcasing PTPI Work
As part of the programme, Eesti People to People contributed to the “Sharing Best Practice” session, presenting several impactful Erasmus+ initiatives:
- HATE-LESS – tackling hate speech and disinformation through media literacy
- Combating Online Misinformation to Prevent Radicalisation of Vulnerable Adults
- Strengthening eHealth Literacy Skills of Older Adults
These projects reflect PTPI’s growing engagement in:
- media literacy
- digital resilience
- inclusive education
- intergenerational learning
Ruta Pels also led a networking session, supporting connections across the international community.
🤝 A Strong European Framework
The event was part of iLEGEND III (2022–2026) – a joint programme of the Council of Europe and the European Union, in partnership with organisations including AECID, Movimiento 4.7, and ECUDEM-UCV.
This framework reinforces the importance of:
- global education
- sustainable development
- cross-border cooperation
🎯 Why This Matters
This is a strong signal.
It shows PTPI chapters:
- contributing to EU-level programmes
- engaging in policy-relevant discussions
- delivering structured, credible projects
👉 Not just participation.
👉 Meaningful presence.
🌱 A Network in Motion
Across PTPI, this kind of work often happens quietly.
But taken together, it shows a clear direction:
- local expertise connecting into global frameworks
- chapters contributing beyond their immediate communities
- a network building relevance through real activity
