Nestled on the lush eastern slopes of Mount Cameroon, Buea is the regional capital of Cameroon’s Southwest Region. With a population of approximately 300,000, Buea is a dynamic city that blends colonial heritage, academic influence, and a youthful spirit. It is also known for its scenic views, historic German architecture, and the presence of the prestigious University of Buea, one of Cameroon’s leading higher education institutions.

About the Chapter

The PTPI Buea Chapter is an active member of the PTPI Africa network. With a strong emphasis on youth development, this chapter engages young people in activities that encourage leadership, cultural pride, and community solidarity.

While many of the current projects are informal and community-driven, the chapter’s strength lies in its deep roots in local traditions and the warm spirit of connection that defines Cameroonian culture. Like much of Africa, the values of family, friendship, and service to one’s community are at the heart of PTPI Buea’s mission.

Though the chapter’s programming is still growing, its commitment to the ideals of Peace through Understanding is evident in its ongoing efforts to bring young people together to learn, connect, and grow.
