People To People International
People To People International️ 1 week ago

Friday Lift: One thing I’ve always found fascinating is that we don’t all click with the same people. And that’s not a flaw, it’s a feature of being human. We each carry our own history, culture, values, and lived experience. So it makes sense that we won’t all agree on what “good” looks like, or who feels safe, familiar, or inspiring. Sometimes the real mistake is assuming that your enemy must be my enemy and that your alliances must be mine too. Pluralism asks more of us than simple tolerance. It asks us to make room for difference without demanding sameness. To accept that people can disagree and still belong. To protect dignity even when we don’t share a worldview. And to resist the urge to turn every disagreement into a division. Belonging doesn’t mean everyone fits everywhere. It means people are treated as fully human, even when they’re not “my kind of person”. So here’s a gentle weekend reminder: if a connection is respectful, if it brings out something decent in both people, if it helps someone feel seen and steadier in the world, then let it be. Our world is full of possibility and beauty. Let’s make space for more of it.
