About the Chapter

The People to People International Tainan Chapter is one of Taiwan’s most active and engaged chapters. With a strong commitment to cultural exchange and citizen diplomacy, the chapter continues to build bridges of understanding through a wide variety of community and international activities.

The Tainan Chapter has established meaningful sister chapter relationships, including partnerships with PTPI Ulsan (South Korea), Niislel (Mongolia), and Yerevan (Armenia). Through these connections, the chapter has hosted homestay programs, student exchanges, and cultural gatherings to promote peace and mutual respect. The chapter also supports humanitarian causes and works actively with young people, providing educational and cultural opportunities to promote global awareness.

🕊️ Taiwan’s Cultural Capital
Tainan, often referred to as the “Phoenix City,” is Taiwan’s oldest city and a true cultural gem. As the former capital during the Dutch colonial era and Qing Dynasty, its legacy lives on in beautifully preserved sites, historic temples, and enduring traditions.

🏯 A City of Temples
With over 200 temples, Tainan is a spiritual and architectural wonder. From the Kuan Kung Temple to the Temple of the Martial God, each sacred space offers a unique window into Taiwanese heritage and faith.

🍜 Food Lover’s Paradise
Tainan is Taiwan’s culinary capital—home to signature dishes like beef soup, coffin bread, shrimp rolls, and oyster omelets. Its bustling night markets, such as the Garden Night Market, are a feast for all the senses.

🎨 Rich History Meets Modern Global Connections
Tainan is recognized as a “Sufficiency” global city by the Globalization and World Cities Research Network. It perfectly blends historic charm with a forward-looking spirit of global friendship—making it a proud home for a thriving PTPI chapter.

Whether you’re planning a visit to Taiwan or looking to build international friendships, the Tainan Chapter warmly welcomes you into its family of peace-builders and cultural ambassadors.
